All about IIT Roorkee's Business Incubator launched at Greater Noida
India TodayIIT Roorkee on Friday launched its new facility for business incubation at Greater Noida. The centre was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr Anita Gupta, Associate Head, National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board, Department of Science and Technology and Dr. Ajit K Chaturvedi, Director, IIT Roorkee, along with other distinguished guests. About the Incubation Centre The Greater Noida-based incubator which is supported by the department of science and technology and MeitY will start with 15 incubatee team members and initially offer incubation to 3 start-ups whom they will support, incubate and mentor for a duration of 24 months -- which may be extended if necessary. IIT Roorkee develops technology for Indian Railway track health monitoring using drones TIDES Business Incubator is supported by the Government's Start Up India Programme and their facility will greatly benefit students of IIT-Roorkee who are keen to work on their start-up ideas. The current students can also work from the Greater Noida Campus during their vacations and conduct customer meetings and interactions with potential investors However, the facility may be soon be open to all, which means that other start-ups meeting their criteria will be able to make use of their incubator facilities.
