Revanth Reddy vows to secure 42% quota for Backward Classes, urges all-party unity
India TodayTelangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy reaffirmed his government’s commitment to increasing the Backward Classes reservation to 42 per cent, delivering a speech in the Telangana Assembly on the matter. The Chief Minister announced that his government was withdrawing the previous administration’s proposal, which had sought to raise BC reservations to 37 per cent. The Chief Minister called upon Union Ministers Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay, along with BJP floor leader Raja Singh, to take the responsibility of securing an appointment with the Prime Minister. He also urged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to raise the issue in Parliament, entrusting Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee President Mahesh Kumar Goud with the task of seeking a meeting with Gandhi soon.
