Oscars 2022: New hosts, categories and controversies
The Oscars will take place on March 27; this year’s ceremony will be hosted by three women for the first time. The Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, is a ceremony where the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences hands out awards for creative and technical excellence in the film industry. In another effort to keep viewers watching longer, the Academy decided to shorten the live segment by cutting eight categories out of this year’s televised programme, sparking controversy.
