Kumki elephants to reach Athirappilly for treatment of injured elephant

A team of Kumki elephants will begin arriving in Athirappilly on Sunday to assist with the treatment of the injured elephant. According to the Divisional Forest Officer, Vazhachal, one Kumki elephant will arrive on Sunday, with others following on Monday. The injured elephant will be moved to the Abhayaranyam Elephant Camp at Kodanad, where it will receive treatment in a specially constructed kraal. However, the treatment has been delayed due to the current kraal at the camp being deemed insufficiently sturdy to safely house the elephant, as per veterinary experts.
