J&K L-G terminates three govt. employees over ‘terror links’; Opposition questions CM Omar
The HinduInvoking special provisions under Article 311 of the Constitution, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, on Saturday terminated the services of three more government employees over alleged links to militants in the Union Territory. Firdous Ahmad Bhat, a police constable; Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, a teacher; and Nisar Ahmad Khan, an orderly in the Forest Department were the three employees who lost their jobs. The L-G’s administration in J&K has terminated the services of at least 63 employees under the provisions of Article 311 since 2020. People had pinned their hopes on the new government, expecting at least some relief through vigorous advocacy of these issues with the L-G,” former J&K CM and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti said.
