Canberra man loses bail bid after alleged violent machete attack, which severed victim's fingers in September
ABCA man accused of a machete attack which left the victim with life-threatening injuries is behind bars, after he was refused bail in the ACT Magistrates Court today. Zachery Norton, 30, has been charged with attempted murder, after three of the victim's fingers were severed, and he suffered multiple deep cuts and fractures. Court documents reveal police believe the victim originally went to the house to buy and use drugs. Mr Norton looked shocked and protested but in the end the court found he hadn't established the grounds for a grant of bail, especially in light of a series of other alleged offences in the time since.
