Uttar Pradesh: Two beaten to death by mob in Amethi; FIR registered

Two persons were beaten to death by mob in Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi, after they allegedly shot at a 12-year-old boy during a religious function at a temple in Saraiya village of the town, police said on Sunday. Commenting on the incident, police said Dilip and Singh were rushed to a community health centre in Musafirkhana but succumbed to their injuries during treatment. An FIR against four persons under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code was registered, based on a complaint from the brother of one of the deceased, the SHO said. Top police officials, including Superintendent of Police Anurag Ary and Additional SP BC Dubey had arrived at the spot after they had received information about the incident.
