Fact Check: Yamuna Aarti in Delhi DID NOT start after BJP won

The Bharatiya Janata Party defeated the Aam Aadmi Party in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections and regained power in the capital after 27 years. A video now going viral claimed that only a few days after BJP’s victory, Yamuna Aarti was performed in the capital’s ghats for the first time. This video shows Yamuna Aarti at the Vasudev Ghat in Delhi’s Civil Lines area, where it has been regularly offered since March 2024. A keyword search using this led us to several news reports about Yamuna Aarti at the Vasudev Ghat located in the Civil Lines area. It is thus clear that the claims regarding Yamuna Aarti being offered for the first time in Delhi after the BJP’s victory are misleading.
