Cyclone Fengal Disrupt Flight Operations in Chennai and Tirupati
Deccan ChronicleHyderabad:Adverse weather conditions caused by Cyclone Fengal in Chennai and Tirupati led to several flights between Hyderabad and these cities being affected. Flight 6E 683 from Mumbai to Chennai, carrying 200 passengers, and Flight AI 429 from Delhi to Chennai, with 147 passengers, were diverted due to the bad weather conditions at the Chennai airport. The Chennai airport posted on X, saying, “In light of Cyclonic Storm 'Fengal' and the forecasted high crosswinds, as predicted by IMD, Chennai Airport operations will be suspended from 1230 hrs to 1900 hrs on 30.11.2024 following safety concerns raised by stakeholder airlines. Later, in another post on X, the Chennai airport stated, “it has been decided to extend the closure of operations through a NOTAM until 0400 IST on 1st December 2024.
