Maharashtra CM To Be From BJP, Two Deputies, Oath-Taking Likely On Dec 2 — What We Know So Far
ABP NewsAmid the ongoing speculations over the next Maharashtra Chief Minister, the leaders of the ruling Mahayuti are likely to meet the BJP top brass in New Delhi on Thursday. After Eknath Shinde said that he is leaving the decision of choosing the next chief minister with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it is likely that the top post will stay with the BJP, which emerged as the largest party in the recently-concluded Maharashtra assembly elections. Eknath Shinde, in the press conference in Thane, said he assured PM Modi of abiding by whatever decision the BJP takes on choosing the next Maharashtra chief minister. The swearing-in ceremony will be attended by top Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Chief Ministers and Deputy CMs of BJP-ruled states. With Shiv Sena leader Shinde clearing the decks for a BJP leader to succeed him, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is seen as a clear favourite for the top post.
