Panel Submits Report on SC Sub-Division

Hyderabad: The one-man committee on Scheduled Castes sub-categorisation, headed by retired Telangana High Court judge Justice Shameem Akhtar, submitted its report to the state government on Monday. The report was handed over to Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, chairman of the Cabinet sub-committee on SC sub-categorisation, at the Secretariat. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, who also chairs the cabinet sub-committee on the caste census, had revealed the findings of the caste census on Sunday in a media conference at the Secretariat after he received the report. To prevent further controversy ahead of the Assembly session, the government has reportedly chosen to keep the SC sub-categorisation report under wraps until it is formally presented in the House.
