Two devotees on padayatra to Dharmasthala killed in accident near Hassan

Two pedestrians on a “padayatra” to Dharmasthala were run over by a private bus on National Highway 75, near Hassan early morning on Sunday. They were among hundreds of devotees on a padayatra to Dharmasthala in Dakshina Kannada district to take part in Shivaratri on February 26. They reached the toll plaza near Shantigrama in Hassan taluk by evening and slept for a few hours. It may be noted that devotees from various parts of the State take out padayatra to Dharmasthala ahead of Shivarathri every year.
