Simon Thomas has been confirmed as Jeff Stelling's successor as host of Sky Sport’s results service Soccer Saturday, with former Premier League referee Mike Dean also joining the programme. Simon Thomas has been confirmed as the new host of Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday service Thomas succeeds Jeff Stelling after he quit as presenter following 25 years on the show Thomas said that following Stelling as the host of Soccer Saturday was a 'massive honour' Thomas stepped away from full-time broadcast work to look after his son, following the sudden death of his wife Gemma six years ago. Sky Sports also confirmed that former Premier League referee Dean will join the coverage to provide analysis and insight on major decisions. Thomas' first show as Soccer Saturday host is expected to be in three weeks' time on the first day of the Football League season on August 5, with the Premier League starting a week later.
