To Address The Issue of Data Privacy of Students Taking Online Exams, Delhi HC Directs DU To Produce Its Data Retention Policy [Read Order]

In order to address the legal issue concerning the data privacy of students who appeared for the online Open Book Exams, the Delhi High Court has directed the Delhi University to produce its policy on the retention of answer scripts both in physical and electronic forms. The said directions have been given in a petition filed by Mr Anupam challenging the procedure adopted by the Delhi University for conducted the online OBE for the final year undergraduate students. Earlier, in the same matter, the court had given a green signal to the Delhi University to conduct online OBE by following the detailed directions of the court. One of those directions referred to the constitution of a Grievance Redressal Committee, headed by the retired Delhi HC judge Justice Pratibha Rani, which would entertain the complaints raised by the students regarding the problems faced by them while taking the online OBE.
