Dolphins place rookie RB De’Von Achane on IR with knee injury, expect him to return this season

Associated Press

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Miami Dolphins are placing rookie running back De’Von Achane on injured reserve on Wednesday after he suffered a knee injury against the New York Giants. Miami’s running back room will get a boost soon with the return of Jeff Wilson Jr, whom the Dolphins designated to return from injured reserve after he missed the first five weeks with various injuries. He looked really good out there at practice today, so we’re all excited.” Miami has the NFL’s top rushing offense, averaging 185.8 yards per game, thanks in part to the production of Achane, whom the Dolphins selected in the third round of the 2023 draft. His grasp of his role in a short period of time has impressed teammates already, including Tagovailoa who has praised Achane for understanding the game “like the back of his hand.” Achane’s speedy teammate Jaylen Waddle said Wednesday that he’s confident he will return stronger and faster from his injury.
