Instead, you may be more inclined towards knowing what it’s like to be physically present in a theatre after months of being cooped up at home under India’s coronavirus lockdown. India’s coronavirus lockdown prompted cinema halls across the country to close indefinitely back in March, depriving moviegoers of the immersive experience that a theatre has to offer. Each time I saw a large gathering on screen — if you’ve watched Knives Out, you’d know there’s a huge family involved — I found myself cringing hard. I was so taken by Toni Collette’s iconic line — “I read a tweet about a New Yorker article about you” — that I almost kicked the older gentleman sitting in the front row.
