Auction of Iqbal Mirchi's properties fails, no bidders turn up

The auction of two properties of to late underworld gangster and drug trafficker Iqbal Mirchi held on Tuesday turned out to be a damp squib as no bidder came forward. The auction by the Ministry of Finance's Office of Competent Authority, Mumbai, had initiated the process to auction six properties seized and forfeited under Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators Act and Narcotics Drug and Psychotropic Substances ACT on Tuesday in Mumbai. Of the six properties, two belonged to Iqbal Mirchi. The three properties were never attached or came to notice of the agencies as they were under control of the Mohammad Yusuf Trust which claimed that the trust owned three properties.
