A 20-year-old man who police say broke into a family home in Kalgoorlie-Boulder while armed with a machete has died in hospital. Mr Smith's mother and father held a press conference in Perth on Wednesday morning and said they were set to meet with the police commissioner. His mother Kathleen O'Loughlin said they were hopeful authorities would "get to the bottom of what happened". "I understand it occurred as a result of a home invasion and it was a very violent set of circumstances that then followed," he said.
