Rains and hailstorms take Hyderabad folk by surprise
Deccan ChronicleHYDERABAD: The city experienced unexpected massive hail storms accompanied by rains late Monday evening after it was baked by 40º Celsius heat. Nampally, Himayatnagar, Dilsukhnagar, Khairatabad, Mehdipatnam, Secunderabad, Begumpet, Ameerpet, Moosapet, Charminar, Jubilee Hills, Shalibanda, Mallepally, Siddiamber Bazaar, Rajendranagar, Falaknuma and Malakpet experienced heavy hailstorms early in the evening. Accompanied by lightning and strong winds, heavy rains lashed many parts of the city, including Jubilee Hills, Gachibowli, Khairatabad, Tank Bund, Saidabad, Osmania University, Basheerbagh, Himayatnagar, Hyderguda, Begumpet, Rasoolpura, Amerpeet, Punjagutta, Koti, Abids, Secunderabad, Karkhana, Champapet, Chanchalguda, Sanathnagar, Balanagar, Moosapet, Chintal, Malkajgiri, Jeedimetla, ECIL, Neredmet and their surroundings. IMD has issued yellow warnings for rainfall in the state for five days; light to moderate rains or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places due to a low-pressure area running from south central Maharashtra to Tamil Nadu.
