₹12,000 per year to be disbursed to landless labourers from Dec. 28, says Bhatti
The HinduThe people’s government will implement its promise of providing ₹12,000 per year to landless labourers from December 28, and the first instalment of ₹6,000 will be disbursed on the same day the Congress will celebrate its Formation Day, said Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. Forced to take loans For 10 long years, the BRS rulers looted the State by borrowing huge sums of loans in the name of various projects, including Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, he charged, saying the Congress government is forced to take loans to clear the debts left behind by the BRS government. Reading out statistics, he said, “The Congress government borrowed ₹54,118 crore as per the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management norms this year to clear old loans borrowed during BRS rule, along with interest totalling ₹66,782 crore.” The Congress government soon after coming to power released a White Paper detailing the financial position of the State, he noted. After the formation of Telangana State in 2014, the BRS government had directly taken loans to the tune of ₹72,658 crore and the borrowing further rose to ₹3,89,673 crore by 2024, he alleged quoting statistics.
