Toowoomba man Jonathan Wright sentenced to life in prison for murder of Paul Sia
ABCA man convicted of deliberately running down and killing his friend near Toowoomba in 2022 has been sentenced to life in prison. Jonathan Wright, 48, was found guilty in the Toowoomba Supreme Court of murdering Brisbane man Paul Sia at Withcott after ramming him off the road following an apparent drug deal gone wrong. The court heard that after Mr Sia's car was run off Toowoomba Connection Road on November 20, 2022 Wright ran over him, causing fatal brain and skull injuries. "You told the jury you acted in this way because of a significant illicit drug deal that went wrong," Justice Bradley said. 'Forgiveness has set me free' Mr Sia's older sister Eterei Alofa Fepuleai delivered a powerful victim impact statement to the court in which she forgave Wright for killing her brother.
