Kolkata Metro links Howrah, Sealdah stations; travel time to reduce to 11 minutes

The Kolkata Metro has successfully connected the Howrah and Sealdah stations on the Green Line, which will reduce travel time between the two major railway hubs to just 11 minutes. Speaking to India Today TV, a metro official highlighted the breakthrough, saying, "It is a great mental relief for the people and traders of Bowbazar that Metro Railway could finally mitigate the challenges caused by the tunnelling crisis and successfully connect Sealdah Metro Station with Esplanade metro station." A senior metro official also compared the metro services between Howrah and Sealdah to operating 72 air-conditioned buses per hour between the two places in just 11 minutes. "The dream of lakhs of commuters to travel between Sealdah and Howrah in just eleven minutes in air-conditioned metro rakes is becoming a reality," another metro official said.
