Maharashtra Cabinet: Discontent brews in Mahayuti as 11 ministers out, Bhujbal says ‘prize’ for OBC stand
Live MintMaharashtra Cabinet: The expansion of cabinet in Devendra Fadnavis-led Maharashtra government has triggered resentment among former ministers and some lawmakers from all the three Mahayuti allies – the Bharatijya Janata Party, the Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party. Among the disgruntled leaders, is senior NCP leader, Chhagan Bhujbal, who on Monday said that the denial of cabinet berth could be the ‘prize’ he got for standing up for the OBC community. “I stood for the OBC community at a time when I was being attacked from all sides… It could be the prize for this,” said the former minister in the previous Mahayuti government led by Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde. Shiv Sena was allotted nine Cabinet ministers and two MoS, while the NCP will have eight ministers of Cabinet rank and a minister of state.
