OCTOBER’S INFLATION BREACHES RBI TOLERANCE LEVEL In October, inflation rose to 6.2%, surpassing the Reserve Bank of India's upper tolerance threshold of 6%. Upasna Bhardwaj, Chief Economist at Kotak Mahindra Bank, earlier said, "The sharply higher-than-expected CPI inflation has largely been led by a surge in vegetable prices but also a sharp pickup in core inflation. NOVEMBER INFLATION FORECAST: WHAT TO EXPECT Economists expect retail inflation, measured by the Consumer Price Index, to moderate slightly to 5.5% in November from October’s 6.2%, according to a Bloomberg survey.
