Sudanese security forces kill four anti-coup protesters
Al JazeeraFour protesters shot dead during the 11th day of major demonstrations in Sudan since the October 25 coup. Sudanese security forces have shot four people dead during nationwide protests, a doctors’ group said, as tens of thousands of people marched against military rule. The Central Committee of Sudanese Doctors said four protesters were shot dead by security forces, three of them in Omdurman. Reporting from Khartoum, Al Jazeera’s Mohamed Vall said the situation in Omdurman had developed into a serious confrontation between the security forces and anti-coup protesters despite earlier indications that the protest would be less violent than previous ones. “But as the day progressed, it became clear that, because the security forces prevented the protesters in Omdurman from crossing the bridges and reaching central Khartoum, the main confrontations took place there,” said Vall.
