Since Android came into being late last decade, it has been known that the Linux-based open-source operating system requires colossal amounts of RAM in order to maintain smooth user experience. That’s why, Samsung still offers the standard Galaxy S9 with 4GB RAM, which is surprising considering the amount of tweaking made to their custom Samsung Experience UI and the upcoming OneUI. If Apple’s three-year-old iPhone 6S can still offer a smooth user experience with just 2GB RAM onboard, why big names from the Android universe can’t work to make the software more efficient in order to work on restricted hardware in brand new phones At this point, some would argue that more RAM is necessary for multitasking with a few apps and games on the move.
