According to Foreign Policy magazine, a series of reports have indicated little progress on elimination of North Korea’s nuclear weapons in advance of the Hanoi meeting. Speaking to Al Jazeera, Kab-Woo Ko, a political science professor at the University of North Korean Studies in Seoul, earlier said how Pyongyang “needs to secure economic, political and diplomatic benefits from this summit ”. But unlike North Korea, Vietnam learned long ago to make its mark on the world map through economic reforms.
