Procedures for getting passports for minor applicants simplified, says Regional Passport Officer

Ministry of External Affairs has simplified the procedures to facilitate easy passport services for minor applicants, said Madurai Regional Passport Officer B. Vasanthan. Addressing the media here on Wednesday, Mr. Vasanthan said that parents of minor applicants could fill up the annexures ‘C’ and ‘D’ and submit it along with supporting documents which would facilitate getting the passport for children quickly. Stating that normal passports were being issued within an average of 11 working days since the applications were submitted, Mr. Vasanthan said that applicants should go for the Tatkal system only when they were sure that they have all the required documents. “Normal passport would come within 11 days and people need not pay additional money for Tatkal system without knowing the eligibility,” he said.
