Annie Mac quits BBC Radio 1 after 17 years, as she is replaced by Clara Amfo

Annie Mac has announced she is leaving BBC Radio 1 after 17 years, amid several line-up changes at the station. Annie later took to Twitter and wrote a statement about her decision to leave, saying she wants to spend more time with her two children who she shares with her husband and fellow BBC Radio 1 DJ Toddla T. Annie said: 'In my time on Radio 1, I have fallen in and out of love, moved homes, climbed up the career ladder, got married and become a mother twice over, alongside you doing your versions of the same' Other changes at the station include Rickie Haywood-Williams, Melvin Odoom and Charlie Hedges taking on Live Lounge while Radio 1's Future Artists with Jack Saunders is moving to an earlier slot of 8am-10am, Monday to Wednesday. Danny Howard, who joined Radio 1 after winning the station's Superstar DJ talent competition back in 2011, will take over Annie's other hosting slot on Radio 1's Dance Party on Fridays at 6pm.
