I'm 85 and no longer fit to drive. But when I took my name off my wife's insurance, Tesco Bank charged us £118 MORE: SALLY SORTS IT

I am a named driver on my 79-year-old wife’s comprehensive Tesco Bank car insurance. Sally Hamilton replies: Tesco Bank’s response to your eyesight predicament seemed high-handed and I can appreciate how annoyed you felt. Your situation came about because Barclays decided four years ago to stop offering accounts to people overseas without a UK address and has been gradually closing those accounts already in place. Barclays told me it wrote to you about a year ago giving several months’ notice that the account was to be closed and outlining your options. Barclays UK is no longer offering personal current or savings accounts to retail customers who have an address outside the UK registered with us, with limited exceptions.
