Teesta met with political leader, got money for conspiracy: Gujarat SIT tells SC
India TodayOpposing the bail plea filed in the Supreme Court by activist Teesta Setalvad, the special investigation team of the Gujarat police, in an affidavit, has said that witnesses have given "irrefutable" evidence against Setalvad. Teesta Setalvad had moved the apex court seeking bail in a case relating to allegations of conspiracy to create false evidence in the Godhra riots. The SIT has also stated that witnesses have stated that Teesta Setalvad had "held meetings with the said political leader and had received large amounts of money." While the Gujarat government affidavit does not mention the names of the political leaders or the alleged motive for the conspiracy, it has said that Teesta's decision to move the high court is an "abuse of process" as she is seeking "special treatment."
