Gujarat: Lecturers and professors exempted from qualifying CCC+, regional languages exam

Lecturers and professors at Gujarat's state-run and grant-in-aid colleges and universities do not need to clear Course on Computer Concepts in addition to the exams in Gujarati or Hindi language to be promoted, as told by the state government on Wednesday. A Government Resolution issued by the Gujarat government in February 2019, stated that lecturers and professors will have to clear CCC+ in addition to Hindi or Gujarati language exams for promotion and higher pay as per the Career Advancement Scheme under the 7th Pay Commission pay scales in effect in Gujarat. Gujarat Education Minister Jitu Vaghani said that the state government has taken the decision to remove these conditions from the GR in addition to restarting the process of granting promotion. DECISION TAKEN AFTER REPRESENTATIONS BY TEACHERS’ UNION Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has taken the decision in consideration of representations made by several teachers’ unions from colleges and universities.
