EPFO extends deadline to activate UAN for ELI scheme. Check final date
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation has extended the deadline for linking the Universal Account Number under the Employment Linked Incentive scheme to December 15, 2024, from the earlier deadline of November 30, 2024. Introduced in the Union Budget 2024, the ELI scheme has three components aimed at boosting employment and supporting employers: Scheme A: First-time employees entering the formal sector will receive one month’s salary in three installments through Direct Benefit Transfer. Scheme C: Focused on additional employment in all sectors, this scheme reimburses employers up to Rs 3,000 per month for two years for each new employee earning up to Rs 1 lakh per month. The ELI scheme aims to incentivise formal employment, particularly for first-time employees, and reduce the burden on employers, promoting overall job creation and economic growth.
