Kozhikode Corporation put on a week's notice

KOZHIKODE: Kozhikode District Collector N Prasanth has ordered the Kozhikode Municipal Corporation to repair and close all the flooded and dilapidated drainages in the City limit within one week. He has also issued similar warnings to the PWD Executive Engineer and Kerala Sustainable Urban Development Project Project Manager. In a letter sent to Corporation Secretary T.P Satheesan, the District Collector said that the condition of the drainages in the City was ‘grave’ and it could result in serious disasters like the recent incident in which a 55-year-old man lost his life after falling into an open drain at Mankavu. Repair and close all flooded and dilapidated drainages within the Corporation limits," the letter dated July 22 said.
