Extending Mulwad project will increase irrigation potential in Vijayapura: Patil

Extension of the Mulwad Lift Irrigation Project to Babaleshwar taluk will increase irrigation potential of Vijayapura district by over 25,000 acres, district in-charge Minister M.B. He said that creation of lift irrigation schemes, expansion of existing ones and tank-filling projects taken up by the government have improved the condition of Vijayapura farmers. “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah released over ₹58,000 crore for irrigation in the State during his first term,” he said. Village elder Ramesh Badri said that farmers have pooled money to get a statue of Mr. Patil installed in the village for bringing irrigation to the region.
