Weather patterns on alien world beyond our solar system seen for first time
They believe the distant world may host huge hurricanes like on Jupiter It makes even the most powerful storms on Earth look puny. The light coming from a distant planet called PSO J318.5-22, which is floating by itself around 75 light years from Earth, has been shown to vary every couple of hours, suggesting clouds may be passing across its surface. Astrophysicists at the University of Toronto recently found evidence to suggest a close encounter with Jupiter may have ejected another giant planet from the solar system, around four billion years ago. Last week astronomers revealed Jupiter may have bumped a giant planet out of our own solar system around four billion years ago. It is not the first time astronomers have been able to infer information about weather on alien planets beyond our solar system.
