Mumbai bus crash: Accused driver seeks bail, blames mechanical fault for accident

The driver of a government bus, which was involved in the accident in Mumbai's Kurla which killed eight people earlier this month, filed a bail application in the Mumbai Sessions court on Tuesday. The driver, Sanjay More's, bail plea was filed through advocate Samadhan Sulene, who claimed that More has been driving since 1989, and he cannot be held responsible for a mechanical fault of the bus. For mechanical fault of the bus, he cannot be held responsible for the mishap," Sulene said. On December 10, the bus, operated by the civic-run Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport, struck multiple vehicles and pedestrians in a densely populated area, which killed eight people and left over 40 injured.
