Skyroot begins VIkram-I payload fairing tests, preps for static fire test

Skyroot Aerospace, an Indian private company, has begun preparation for the maiden launch of the Vikram-1 rocket later this year. Named after Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, founder of the Indian Space Program, Vikram is a series of modular space launch vehicles especially crafted for the small satellite market. Sources at Skyroot told IndiaToday.in, "The company at the moment is in various stages of testing the different stages of the rocket at multiple facilities spread across India before they will be integrated for launch at Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota." In March 2024, Skyroot successfully test-fired the second-stage engine of its Vikram-1 space launch vehicle, named Kalam-250.
