Man who threatened Wilders in Facebook video faces six years in jail

The Pakistan national arrested at The Hague’s main railway station in August last year after placing a video on Facebook threatening to attack Geert Wilders should be jailed for six years, the public prosecution department said at his trial on Tuesday. In the video, which is in Urdu, Junaid I. reportedly states: ‘I am just five minutes from parliament where the exhibition is’ – a reference to Wilders’ planned Mohammed cartoon competition. The video does not mention Wilders by name but police found manipulated images on the man’s phone which included Wilders who had been beheaded. Wilders himself made a rare appearance at the Schiphol high security court house, saying he wanted to see the man who had threatened him eye to eye.
