Air Force to phase out ageing MiG-21, 23 fleet; to buy 100 more Tejas jets

So, apart from the 83 LCA Mark 1A that we have already contracted for, we are moving a case for around 100 more aircraft," Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari said in Spain's Seville. TEJAS FIGHTER JETS Tejas Mark-1A is an indigenously designed, developed and manufactured modern 4-plus generation fighter aircraft with more than 65 per cent indigenous components. Tejas MK 1 A is an indigenously developed Active Electronically Scanned Array radar, Beyond Visual Range Missile, modern Electronic Warfare Suite with Air-to-Air Refuelling capabilities.
