Sahil Bali, a tattoo artist at Delhi’s Devilz Tattooz, told India Today, “In the primitive era, tattoos were used as an identification mark for a tribe or to recognise a certain segment of people. “Yes, tattoos are highly addictive in the sense that I haven’t seen many people who won’t come again to get inked after their first tattoo. The pain associated with getting a tattoo is subjective and varies from person to person.” If someone keeps getting more tattoos, it doesn't necessarily mean they are addicted to pain. “Getting too many tattoos doesn't necessarily mean that you are getting addicted, and it is also not necessary that people enjoy the pain, and that's what keeps them bringing back to the tattoo parlour,” she said.
