India Today

The Archaeological Survey of India on Friday conducted carbon dating at the Kartikeya Temple in UP's Sambhal, which was reopened on December 13 after remaining locked for 46 years. Officials conducted carbon dating and examined five pilgrimage sites in the vicinity, including Bhadrak Ashram, Swargdeep and Chakrapani, along with an inspection of 19 wells. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Vandana Mishra, who was leading a campaign against electricity theft in the area, said, "While inspecting the region, we stumbled upon this temple. Following the discovery of the idols and the well at the temple, the Sambhal administration had written to the Archaeological Survey of India to carry out carbon dating of the shrine.
