Tribunal upholds ban on Yasin Malik's JKLF, says credible grounds to declare it unlawful association

An Unlawful Activities Act Tribunal has said there is credible evidence to declare the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front an unlawful association and upheld the ban imposed by the Centre. The tribunal has said there was there is "sufficient cause to confirm notification issued by government declaring the said organisation as an unlawful association". The tribunal, in its order, held that the activities of the faction are "disruptive in character, which threatens the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India". "A careful perusal of the FIRs makes it apparent that the association has been actively indulging in and supporting anti-national activities," Justice Shekhar stated.
