Breaking: New Chief Justices Appointed For Bombay, Meghalaya and Orissa High Courts [Read Notifications]

The Central Government has elevated Justice Dipankar Datta, presently a judge at the Calcutta High Court, as the Chief Justice of Bombay High Court and Justice Biswanath Somadder of Calcutta High Court, presently at Allahabad High Court, as the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court. He was elevated to the Bench of the Calcutta High Court as a permanent Judge on June 22, 2006 and was appointed as the Executive Chairman of the State Legal Services Authority, West Bengal. From January 1, 2019 till April 3, 2019, he worked as an Acting Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court and was subsequently transferred as a Judge of the Allahabad High Court on October 17, 2019. At Rajasthan High Court, he functioned as an Acting Chief Justice twice on April 7th 2019 upto May 4th 2019 and on September 23rd 2019 to October 5th 2019.
