New UGC system to evaluate institutes on NEP implementation, offer benefits
The University Grants Commission is developing a system to evaluate higher education institutions based on their progress in implementing the National Education Policy 2020. This new system will play a role in determining privileges and entitlements under various UGC regulations. The UGC’s evaluation framework involves a two-step process: Eligibility qualifiers: HEIs must meet mandatory benchmarks to qualify for privileges or entitlements. This new evaluation system links NEP 2020 implementation directly to institutional benefits, aiming to motivate HEIs to adopt the policy’s goals.
