Charlyze Hayter, 19, died with Jackson Gilmour, 29, when she allegedly confronted the tradie inside his home at Rye on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula in the early hours of December 2. Hayter's alleged partners-in-crime, Jarod Smit, 25, and Mason Matticoli, 24, are accused of fleeing the scene, but allegedly only escaped with a black duffel bag and bank cards worth just $100. Mr Gilmour's friends told Daily Mail Australia that Ms Hayter had been a friend of the builder and carpenter, who had himself shown signs of a troubled life in the months before he was killed.
