
YSRCP stages protest over omission of YSR’s name from renovated PM Palem stadium in Vizag
The HinduThe YSR Congress Party and supporters staged a protest on Thursday over the missing name of the former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh, Y.S. However, the name of YSR was missing from the arch and main stadium building, which now reads ‘ACA VDCA International Cricket Stadium’. Raising slogans against the NDA government, the YSRCP cadres led by former Minister Gudivada Amarnath staged a demonstration near the YSR statue, near the stadium and demanded that the authorities restore the name of Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy immediately. “The NDA government is trying to erase the brand image of Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy and the YSRCP,” Mr. Amarnath said. It was during the year 2004 to 2009, under the leadership of Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy, IT Hills, BRTS Roads, Health City in Arilova, expansion of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation took place, while steps were taken to protect Public Sector Units in the city, Mr Amarnath, who is also Visakhapatnam YSRCP district president, said.
