Speaker Appavu justifies his walkout from Presiding Officers’ Meet
The HinduTamil Nadu Assembly Speaker M. Appavu has justified his act of walking-out from the recently held 85th National Presiding Officers’ Meet in Patna saying that the Deputy Speaker of Rajya Sabha refused to record his observations about the “objectionable functioning” of Governor of Tamil Nadu. But, the Deputy Speaker of Rajya Sabha, who can only expunge any remarks made by the MPs inside the House, said my observations about the functioning of Governor of Tamil Nadu would not get recorded in the minutes of the meet. The Speaker said the Governor of Tamil Nadu keeps the Bills passed by the Tamil Nadu Assembly pending for long without giving any valid reason and sending them back to the Assembly again. Mr. Appavu said the second airport, considering the growth of Tamil Nadu, would come up at Parandur without affecting anyone living there.
