Madhya Pradesh likely to introduce DigiPass, a DigiYatra-like system for Government Offices
FirstpostThe Madhya Pradesh government is working to develop a DigiYatra-like system called DigiPass, that aims to make interactions between the general public and government institutions. As with DigiYatra, privacy advocates fear that this is yet another way to collect and sell data In a significant development, the government of Madhya Pradesh is planning to implement a program similar to the DigiYatra programme, which will be called the DigiPass. This idea is that just like DigiYatra made accessing airports across the country and checking in a lot easier, the DigiPass programme should be able to optimise administrative procedures and therefore enhance overall efficiency within government ministries and offices. The use of facial recognition technology in airports raises uncertainties regarding the potential compromise of personal data, and there isn’t a straightforward answer to these concerns.
