The Forest department will install the Anakkulam model Artificial Intelligence -enabled surveillance camera system under the Munnar forest division in Idukki. According to High Range Circle Chief Conservator of Forests Arun R.S., the surveillance camera system will be installed at human-animal conflict hotspots in Munnar. Through the AI-enabled surveillance camera system, the Forest department can identify the movement of wild animals in human habitations and take timely preventive methods. “We will fix display boards at Anchammile, Thalayar Factory, Chatta Munnar, and Ezham Mile in the Munnar range.” The boards would display warning messages when wild animals reached the roadsides in Munnar, said the official.
